EasyPG ("we", "us") helps owners of PGs, hostels and co-living properties in India manage rooms, tenants, rent, expenses and complaints. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do. Questions? Write to support@easypg.net.
Who this covers
- Property owners and their staff who create an account to run a property.
- Tenants and prospective tenants whose details the owner enters, or who use a link the owner shares (rent payment, complaint or application page).
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and mobile number. Passwords are stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text.
- Sign in with Google: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google tells us your name, your verified email address and a Google account ID. We use these only to create and sign in to your EasyPG account. We do not receive your Google password, and we do not read your Gmail, contacts, calendar or Drive.
- Property records the owner enters: properties, rooms and beds, photos and documents, tenants (name, phone, email, emergency contact, check-in dates), rent, deposits, payments and receipts, expenses, staff, leads, complaints and similar records.
- Identity documents: if the owner records a tenant's ID proof (type, number, photo) it is stored with that tenant's record and shown only to that property's owner and staff.
- Sign-in and security data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and an activity log of changes made in the console.
- Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, a device token so we can send them.
How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, show your property's records, produce receipts and reports.
- To send emails and notifications you need, such as confirming your email, resetting your password and rent or complaint alerts the owner switched on.
- To keep the service secure and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your data and we do not show advertising.
Who can see it
- The owner and staff of a property see that property's records. One owner's data is kept separate from every other owner's.
- A tenant sees only what the owner shares through the tenant's own link.
- Service providers that help us run EasyPG, such as hosting and email delivery, process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and, briefly, a cookie during Google sign-in to protect against forged requests. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. To delete your account and its data, see how to delete your account.
Your choices
- Ask us to correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you.
- Tenants can ask the property owner to correct or remove their details, or write to us.
- Turn push notifications off in your device or browser settings.
- Stop Google sign-in from working by removing EasyPG under "Third-party apps and services" in your Google Account. Your EasyPG account then needs a password, which you can set with "Forgot password".
Security
We protect data with hashed passwords, encrypted connections and access checks on every request. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device locked.
Children
EasyPG is for adults who run or rent a property. It is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
